With the knockout phase of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy starting from January 9, Devdutt Paddikal, Prasadh Krishna, and Abhimanyu Easwaran are likely to feature for their respective sides. Washington Sundar probably will represent Tamil Nadu if they qualify for the semi-final. However, KL Rahul has requested a leave. Abhimanyu Easwaran left Australia a day earlier to join the Cricket Association of Bengal. Krishna and Paddika will leave Sydney with most of the Indian contingent on Wednesday. On Wednesday, Abhimanyu will join the Bengal squad for training ahead of their pre-quarter-final match against Haryana. Akash Deep, another Bengal player in the India squad, has been sidelined due to a back issue, which also kept him out of the final Test in Australia. He will now head to the Centre of Excellence (formerly the National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru for recovery.
