He first grabbed attention when he came on as MI’s impact substitute, taking the field in place of the legendary Rohit Sharma. With his left-arm wrist spin, he proved he was ready for the big stage by dismissing two of the most dangerous batters in CSK’s lineup. As per a report in Sportstar, the wrist-spinner hails from Kerala's Malappuram district and has yet to make his state debut. Actually, he has played only for Kerala at the Under-14 and Under-19 levels until now. He also featured in the first season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) with Alleppey Ripples. But he was not as phenomenal as he is now. Actually, he took only two wickets during the three games he played there. But scouts from Mumbai Indians spotted him and was signed up by the team for a pittance of Rs 30 lakh.
