Vidarbha and Kerala are playing in the final of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 and what has come to the limelight is the record created by Vidarbha’s allrounder Harsh Dubey. The left-arm spinner broke the record for the most number of wickets in a single Ranji Trophy edition. The 22-year-old achieved this milestone on day 3 of the final match against Kerala in Nagpur, where he trapped MD Nidheesh on a lbw for his 69th wicket of this season. With this wicket, Dubey broke the previous record set by Bihar’s Ashutosh Aman who had taken 68 wickets during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy edition. Unlike Aman, who took his wickets in the Plate group of the Ranji Trophy that season, Dubey performed against top-tier teams in the elite group and took his wickets. This contribution not only helped his team in winning the match but also helped his team remain unbeaten this season. Harsh took his 7th five-wicket haul this season - joint-most in a single edition of the Ranji Trophy. Harsh Dubey made his First Class debut in 2022 and his numbers speak a lot about his credentials. In 17 matches that he has played so far, he has taken 94 wickets to his name and has also scored 693 runs with a career-best of 76 including 7 half-centuries. If we talk about his performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season he has scored 472 runs in 17 innings and has also taken 69 wickets in 19 innings. This has been a dream season for this 22-year-old all-rounder. Most Wickets in a Ranji Trophy Season S.
