Form for Virat Kohli is perhaps one of the key things being discussed during the present Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The batting great has seen an undesirable moment in his career especially across red-ball cricket in the season where he could merely gather an average of 25.06 till now. Amidst such chatter, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has shared a never-before-told tale related to Kohli when he went to England on an Indian tour in 2018. Here is what Varun said on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast “Virat, I mean, everything he’s been through, the times he’s not been in good form, some insights that Anushka shared with me, about his mindset. I think it was a Nottingham Test [Birmingham, 2018] where India had lost, and she said she didn’t attend that game that day. She came back, she didn’t know where Virat was, and she came to the room and saw him laid down, literally crying,” Interestingly, India had won the third match of the five-match series, Nottingham Test by 203 runs after Kohli had pocketed Player of the Match award following scores of 97 and 103. Dhawan made a call and in the process was mentioning the very first Test of the series and which India had lost on a Birmingham track at Edgbaston by 31 runs, even though Kohli has produced spectacular show of 149 and 51 respectively across both innings. "He took the whole thing on himself that I failed when he was still the highest scorer that day, he was the captain of the side that day," Varun added. In the pink-ball Test, he got scores of 7 and 11 in Adelaide while he scored just three runs in the only innings that he batted in Brisbane. The last two Tests of the series are scheduled to be played in Melbourne and Sydney, where the former India skipper has an impressive record. Kohli has 316 runs in three matches at the MCG at an average of 52.66 with a highest score of 169 while his record in Sydney is equally impressive with 248 runs at an average of 49.60. He would love to go back and start scoring runs at these two venues because this will be an excellent opportunity for him as well as the team to regain their form.
