Netflix India has said a high-voltage promo for the India versus Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy 2025 featuring greats from both the neighbours that includes Shoaib Akhtar, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Shikhar Dhawan, etc. In the video, each and everyone was seen sharing experiences about the match rivalry. Indian former explosive opening batter Virender Sehwag expressed how extreme patriotism overpowers emotions of just a match. Sehwag said, "An India Pakistan match is not just a match between bat and ball. It's much bigger than that." Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar narrated how people from both sides of the border are equally interested and invested in the match. He said, "10000 people standing outside. 10000 people were waiting inside." Even India's former captain, Sourav Ganguly, also expressed the same view. He sarcastically highlighted on how a particular name friendship tour got doomed in front of Shoaib Akhtar's 150 km per hour deliveries. "There maybe 22 playing, but billions are excited. It was a friendship tour only in name, but Shoaib Akhtar is going to bowl at 150 km an hour, where is the friendship in that? The geopolitical tensions between the two countries had left everything hanging unless Pakistan settled for a hybrid model. letting only India play in Dubai. However, the settlement came after the ICC agreed to Pakistan's clause of not travelling to India for any ICC tour. Even India denied to have the host's name on their jerseys, but later agreed after the ICC's intervention. Adding to the woes, the stadiums in Pakistan yet looked "under construction" even 20 days before the tournament start. Amidst all this, India will look to clinch the title, forgetting the defeat to Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, that also highlighted Jasprit Bumrah's infamous consecutive no-balls. The Champions Trophy will start on February 19, with India facing Bangladesh on February 20. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash is on February 23.
