Urvil Patel, the Gujarat prodigy who went unsold in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, has created a record by hitting a 28-ball century against Tripura in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match on Wednesday, November 27 at the Emerald Heights International School Ground in Indore. Patel thus became the cricketer to smash the fastest ever century, breaking Rishabh Pant's record, in India. Earlier, Pant held the record for the fastest hundred for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh back in 2018 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Urvil was a part of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, however, was released ahead of the IPL auction last year.
