Urvil Patel, the opener of Gujarat who went unsold during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, smashes his second T20 century in just six days during the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His Century came against Uttarakhand while playing at the Emerald High School Ground on 3rd December 2024. Urvil scored a quick 36-ball hundred, helping Gujarat to clinch an eight-wicket victory over Uttarakhand with 41 balls to spare. This ton made Urvil Patel the only player in the history of T20 cricket score two centuries in under 40 deliveries. His milestone came just after his record-breaking 28-ball century which came against Tripura on the same ground previous week. While chasing 183, Patel played a fabulous knock of unbeaten 115 that came in just 41 balls. His innings comprised of eight fours and 11 huge sixes, making sure Gujarat reached the target in just 13.1 overs. Also Read | Massive Injury Scare! His innings included twelve sixes and seven fours which guided Gujarat to a win in just 62 balls. His 28-ball century was the quickest by an Indian player in T20 format, only below Sahil Chauhan of Estonia, who has smashed a 27-ball century against Cyprus earlier this year. The quick scoring ability of Urvil Patel isn't something that he has not done before. Exactly a year ago, Patel scored the second-fastest List A century in Indian cricket by scoring 100 in just 41 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. His batting brilliance shows that an IPL deal isn't everything if you have the ability to make your mark with your bat.
