The UAE team has announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming tri-nation that they are part of, which will serve as the crucial preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The tri-series has Pakistan and Afghanistan as the other two teams, and the series will get underway on August 29. All the matches of the tri-series will be hosted by Sharjah, the home of the UAE cricket team. Muhammad Waseem will lead the side in the tri-series, and the squad also features some new faces. Harshit Kaushik, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Jawadullah are the new faces joining the squad, bringing a set of new skills to boost the UAE’s batting and bowling strength. On the other hand, Akif Raja, Matiullah Khan and Zuhaib Zubair are out of the squad. The 32-year-old Junaid Siddique will return to the side after featuring for the team in December last year. He has taken 76 wickets in 59 T20Is. The leggie Muhammad Farooq is a good leg-spin bowler who has featured in just 8 T20I matches, while Jawadullah has featured in 33 T20I matches so far. The squad also features a handful of experienced players, including the skipper, Muhammed Waseem, Muhammad Zohaib, and Saghir Khan. The hosts haven’t announced their squad for the Asia Cup, but they are likely to name it soon. The UAE are placed in Group A with the likes of India, Pakistan and Oman.
