The Indian bowlers were spotted with two different types of balls- the white one and the red one during the practice session, to which the Indian assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate explains that it is nothing new in a practice session. Especially after the player came right after the two-month-long Indian Premier league, they have become more used to the whites. The bowlers of the team, including Jasprit Bumrah, were juggling with both types to which Doeschate reasoned, "It’s not a new thing. All the ball manufacturers make those balls. We talk about detoxing the bowlers, just getting the very basics right. And that’s the easiest way to give you an indication. Guys have come out of a long IPL season and the filthy habits of that cricket." He added, "We don’t want that creeping into Test cricket. So Morne (Morkel) and the bowlers just use that tool just to make sure the basic fundamentals are in place. We’ve been using it for the last two weeks.” Read also: MS Dhoni Trademarks ‘Captain Cool’ to Secure His Legacy Confusions regarding playing XI in the Indian team There has been some persistent confusion regarding Jasprit Bumrah's availability in the second Test. When Doeschate said that he sees no issue in having Boom in the second Test, several reports suggested that he might be rested. India might continue with their rotational approach despite a crushing defeat at Leeds. Reports are suggesting that India might play Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy at Birmingham, with Kuldeep Yadav in line to play. Notably, India suffered a frustrating 5-wicketdefeat at Headingley, despite five centuries from the side and a fifer from Jasprit Bumrah. The main reason, as pointed out by many, was the repeated failures on the field, especially a few dropped catches from Yashasvi Jaiswal at the slip and gully. Later, during the practice session, Jaiswal was removed from the slips too. The second Test will start on July 2nd, at Edgbaston, where India will like to equal the scoreline.
