Having won the toss, RCB decided to field first on a surface that had lain under covers for days. Josh Hazlewood got off to a flying start, removing Quinton de Kock in the opening over. Ajinkya Rahane (56 from 31) and Sunil Narine (44 from 26), however, stabilized the innings. In spite of all their attempts, RCB bowlers rebounded strongly after the powerplay to limit KKR to 174, with young Angkrish Raghuvanshi providing vital runs at the end. Pursuing 175, RCB openers started at a cracking pace, scoring 80 runs in the powerplay. Phil Salt (49) and Virat Kohli (59*) dominated the show, while Rajat Patidar's rapid 34 from 16 balls wrapped up the match. Although they lost some wickets, RCB easily won by 7 wickets with 22 balls remaining, making a good beginning to their IPL 2025 season.
