It was a crucial moment, and the Australian opener, Travis Head once again stood up, scoring an unbeaten 154 against England at Trent Bridge on Thursday. This was his first ODI since the match-winning century in the final of the 2023 World Cup. The result was not very different, if any better. The back-to-back ODI hundreds by Head became a topic of discussion on social media for obvious reasons. On November 19, 2023, his 137-run knock proved to be a winning one for Australia as it conquered the World Cup in Ahmedabad. Less than a year later, on September 19, 2024, he scored 154*, giving Australia a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series against England. England looked well on its way to a big score at 201-2 after 30 overs with Ben Duckett just a century away in the match. But Duckett fell to 95, caught and bowled by spinner Marnus Labuschagne. Labuschagne also sent back Harry Brook, who made 39 on his first match as England captain. Labuschagne took the best ODI figures of 3-39. It was Adam Zampa's 100th ODI who took 3-49 in his 10 overs. The result could have changed if Head had been caught early in his innings. The player of the match mentioned this to Sky Sports: "I got lucky and Jofra (Archer) bowled a hell of a spell at the start. Glad I can continue." Harry Brook, leading England in only his 16th match at 25 years old, admitted their score was "below par." Cricket fans, particularly Indians witnessed some interesting coincidences. Both the centuries came on the 19th and the opposing side wore the shirt with blue colour. In both the games, Marnus Labuschagne, Head's partner was once again in the limelight.
