Travis Head, India's new-found bane for India since the 2023 World Cup, has made a new record at Gabba after scoring a humongous Test century—became the first batter to have a century and a King Pair at the same venue. Travis Head came after Nitish Reddy dismissed Marnus Labuschage and destroyed Indian bowling singlehandedly, scoring 152 off 160 until Jasprit Bumrah cleared him. His partner Steve Smith (101) gave good support, until he became the fourth victim for Bumrah on day 2. A King Pair basically gets two consecutive ducks in the same field. Travis Head, in his last three outings at The Gabba, left without scoring a run. Despite being explosive by nature, the West Indies got rid of a duck in the day-night Test at Gabba. That was Head's last visit to that field before Sunday, day 3 of the third Test against India, when Head almost demolished India. The pitch that looked like heaven for the bowlers changed the moment Head stepped in. He rained runs, created gaps, and played uncanny shots, leaving India in total confusion. The Indian Test team captain Rohit Sharma received enough criticism for his "clueless" captaincy and his "defemsive approach" against Head. Shouldering on Head and Smith's centuries, Australia has crossed 400 runs, losing 7 runs.
