The Border Gavaskar Trophy is around the corner, and it promises to be an important gig for many players in waiting. India's cricket superstar Virat Kohli is all set to smash numerous big records in the forthcoming Australia vs India Test series. Kohli has been under a lot of criticism lately, but his overall record against Australia is excellent thereby making him a real danger for the Aussies. Though Kohli hasn't quite been himself in the longest format of the game for a while now, he has scored only one fifty-plus score in Tests and is still searching for a century in 2024. Records Virat Kohli Could Break in the BGT 2024-25 Kohli is now well on the way to equaling the record of all those runs made while playing for India by the great Sachin Tendulkar in Border Gavaskar Trophy matches. With 1352 runs at an average of 54.08, Kohli is just 458 more runs away to equal the tally of Sachin Tendulkar who has scored 1809 runs. For Kohli, Adelaide Oval has been a happy hunting ground. With just 102 runs, he will better the record of the most runs by a visiting batter in this venue, which is currently on the name of Brian Lara who has scored 610 runs. Kohli has scored 509 runs with the help of five centuries and if he manages to score one more century, he could equal Jack Hobbs' record. He could also become the first cricketer to cross 1000 runs at this venue across all formats. Kohli will also be the second Indian to play a 100th international match against Australia; he follows the legendary Sachin Tendulkar who had this rare honour (110 matches). Kohli also needs four centuries to break a Sachin Tendulkar's record of 20 centuries against Australia in all formats. Kohli has so far amassed 16 centuries against them and needs just four more to overtake Tendulkar's record.
