Cricket Australia has appointed their former Test captain, Tim Paine, as the coach of the Australia team. However, as per the contract, the present Adelaide Strikers' coach will be guiding Australia "A" for three series in the second half of 2025. While fulfilng his duties as a coach for Strikers, he will simultaneously manage the duties of a consultant for the Australia "A" Men's team and guide the Australia Women's team. Paine has been awarded the role of coach after Lachlan Stevens departed. Notably, Paine had already worked under Lachlan as the assistant coach last season, when the latter was serving as the CA's national development coach. Both worked together when India A played against Australia A last year, and he was the serving head coach of Prime Minister XI against India at Canberra. Presently, Paine is expected to support the newly appointed national bowling coach, Adam Griffith, in the men's team. For the women's team, he will work with assistant coach Scott Prestwidge while working with Northern Territory Cricket's Pathway and Development coach Trent Keep. Griffith has been assigned to travel to the Caribbean as Australia's bowling coach for the opening two Tests against the West Indies, stepping in for Daniel Vettori, who will miss the entire tour due to family commitments. After the Tests, Griffith will head back to Australia for the A series, while ex-New Zealand pacer James Franklin will link up with the coaching staff for the third Test and the subsequent five T20Is, marking his first stint with the team.
