The old Delhi bomb blast has snatched 9 lives, injuring many. In such a scenario, Delhi has been under red alert since then, with Mumbai, the entirety of Uttar Pradesh, and later Kolkata being given red alerts. In such a scenario, Arun Jaitley Stadium at Delhi, which is currently hosting the Jammu and Kashmir vs Delhi Ranji match, has been deployed with more security for the final day. Notably, the blast happened near Chandni Chowk, which is a few kilometers away from the stadium. Ashok Sharma, the secretary of Delhi and the Delhi Cricket Association (DDCA) spoke to PTI on Monday saying that they have requested Delhi Police for more security at the stadium premises. Sharma confirmed, "Security to be beefed up near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium) on the final day of the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. I would be getting in touch with Delhi Police authorities and request them to deploy additional security outside the stadium premises." Players asked to stay back in hotel after blast After the blast, the Ranji team playing and non-playing members were asked to stay inside the hotel. They were strictly prohibited from wandering outside, as Ajay Sharma, the head coach of the J&K team, informed The New Indian Express. He said, "As soon as we came to know about the incident, we advised all team members and support staff not to go out of the team hotel. We have also asked those who had already ventured out to come back to the hotel, as it is near the site where explosions were reported." Reports have suggested that Delhi Police found the suspected car to be a Hyundai i20 and they have detained the accused. Notably, the police believed that the car was moving slowly, as there was no crater or spot. The rear portion of the involved has been damaged. Even no pellet injury, but burns have been found in the victims. Forensic experts are analyzing the vehicle to identify the precise cause and origin of the explosion. As per police, the accused has possible links with Jammu and Kashmir, and the state's police are also present at the spot. Delhi Police top officers, including NIA is investigating keeping in mind the possibility of bigger conspiracies. Match situation of J&K and Delhi Ranji match Currently, Jammu and Kashmir requires 179 runs to win. Earlier Delhi scored 211 and 277 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. Jammu and Kashmir accumulated 310 runs in the first innings owing to Paras Dogra's 106-run knock and Abdul Samad's 85 runs. Kanhaiya Wadhawan added 47 valuable runs, batting 81 runs. Currently, Paras Dogra is batting with Qamran Iqbal in the second innings for J&K. Iqbal has already scored a century and is the lone one fighting with a rapid fall of three batters in the middle.
