Pakistan is trying their best to avoid a 2009 recap in 2025 by increasing the security for the touring Sri Lankan team post the suicidal bomb attack near Islamabad court. Currently Sri Lanka is touring Pakistan for a three-match ODI. The first match has already been played on November 11, the day when the militant attack happened. The team will play two more ODIs on November 13, and 15 in the same venue, Rawalpindi. According to reports, the Pakistan Government has tightened the security for the visiting team. Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the serving Federal Minister for Interior met the team and assured them that "they would be safe and secure." Sources further informed the media, "Security has been beefed up with Pakistan Army and the paramilitary rangers now deputed to monitor security for the visiting players and officials."
