Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad are all set to kick off their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season against Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday. Ahead of their season opener, Cummins issued a bold warning to all franchises, hinting that his team is aiming to cross the 300-run mark this IPL season. The SRH captain, along with other players, participated in a fan meet-and-greet event organized by the SRH franchise ahead of the season. When asked about the team’s target for the season, Cummins raised three fingers and confidently declared "Three Hundred," earning a roaring applause from the fans. The Australian skipper expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to replicate last year's brilliance or even go a step further this year. “I think last year was quite an amazing season. We can play anywhere like last year, where the stadium was packed, the boys put on a show with the bat, and the bowlers hung in there. If we can put in a similar team performance this year, I think it's going to be a lot of fun, and we're going to go a long way in the tournament,” Cummins said. Last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad's top order was nothing short of destructive. The team crossed the 260-run mark three times, including a record-breaking 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru — the highest total in IPL history. The wicketkeeper-batter recently smashed a hat-trick of half-centuries in SRH’s intra-squad matches and he will be raring to go as well. Kishan is expected to bat at number three, while the opening duties will likely remain with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The explosive duo scored 691 runs together in 15 matches last season, including three centuries and two half-centuries. With their formidable batting unit and Cummins’ leadership, Sunrisers Hyderabad will aim for the trophy after a heartbreaking final in the last edition. A lot will depend on the top order and how the bowlers fare in the competition. All eyes will be on how the team fares as they begin their campaign on Sunday.
