Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into the history books on Monday, marking a blistering century for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur. In just his third IPL innings, the 14-year-old young talent from Bihar smashed 101 off 38 balls, reaching his hundred in only 35 deliveries. This was the second-fastest century in IPL history behind Chris Gayle’s 30-ball milestone and the fastest ever by an Indian. Despite facing several Indian international bowlers, including Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Siraj, Vaibhav showed no fear and attacked them all. Speaking about his century, Vaibhav revealed his simple approach. "It is a very good feeling. It's my first hundred in the IPL and it's my third innings. The result has shown here after the practice before the tournament. I just see the ball and play. Batting with Jaiswal is good, he tells me what to do and he infuses positive things. It has been a dream to get a 100 in the IPL and today it materialised. There is no fear. I don't think much, I just focus on playing," Vaibhav Suryavanshi said. The young left-hander’s record-breaking evening also made him the youngest ever to score a T20 century, surpassing Vijay Zol's feat. Vaibhav’s 166-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal also became the highest for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL history. Picked up for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL auction, Vaibhav announced himself in the IPL by smashing a six off Shardul Thakur in the first delivery. He now has 151 runs from three matches at a staggering strike rate of 222.05.
