Indian cricket team will be defending their crown in the Asia Cup 2025, commencing on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to a PTI report, the team members will arrive in Dubai on September 4 and will start preparing from the very next day. Suryakumar Yadav-led side has been placed in Group A, while Pakistan, UAE, and Oman will also be part of Group A. Group B will have Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. The upcoming edition of the tournament will be held at two stadiums: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, and Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The Asia Cup 2025 final will be played on September 28 in Dubai. India's Schedule and Preparation Plans A BCCI official told PTI that the team will gather straight in Dubai: "All the players will arrive in Dubai by September 4 evening and the first nets session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy. Factoring in the logistical convenience, the players will be allowed to fly in to Dubai from their respective cities." In any case, Dubai is a short duration flight compared to other international flights." India will begin their campaign against UAE on September 10 in Dubai, followed by a high-octane encounter against Pakistan on September 14. Their final group-stage encounter will come against Oman on September 19. Squad Updates Shubman Gill is back in the T20I team and has been appointed vice-captain for the tournament. Although he is unwell by the time of writing and has pulled out of the Duleep Trophy 2025, but the deputy of Yadav is expected to be fully fit for the continental tournament. A few members of the team are playing in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2025-26, but they will play only the first round before departing to Dubai for the Asia Cup. The team led by Suryakumar Yadav will look to defend the title, as anticipation increases for the big-ticket tournament.
