This decision comes even after India’s loss on a turning pitch in the second Test in Pune. The report further said that the Indian team was reportedly dissatisfied with the Wankhede pitch and has requested the curator to prepare a surface more favorable for spin. Indian Express quoted a source, the source said: "It will be rank turner pitch. The team management has requested to prepare a pitch which can help spinners from day 1. It seems the team wants to go on a tried and tested formula.” Mitchell Santner ran over through India's lineup in the Pune Test, claiming an impressive 13 wickets and leading New Zealand to their first-ever Test series victory in India. His crucial breakthroughs left the Indian batters struggling to pick his deliveries, eventually succumbing under pressure and conceding the series. The challenges for the batters are far from over, though. With red soil providing extra bounce alongside the turn, conditions will remain tricky. Unlike Pune’s slower turning pitch, the bounce will add a fresh layer of difficulty. India hasn’t faced a home series clean sweep since February 2000, when South Africa defeated them 2-0. Despite vastly differing conditions in both games, New Zealand managed to clinch the first two Tests and gain an unassailable lead.
