The T20 Spring Challenge 2025 returns with nine competitive teams: the eight Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) clubs and the ACT Meteors. The 10-day competition started on October 21 brings thrilling cricket action to Sydney's leading grounds, North Sydney Oval, Cricket Central, Blacktown International Sports Park, and Drummoyne Oval. A Key Pre-Season Fixture for the WBBL 2025 Season Launched in 2024 after the WBBL season was reduced from 14 to 10 games, the Spring Challenge had become an integral component of Australia's domestic cricket schedule within a very short period. The competition provides WBBL franchises with a great chance to support players and give them game time in preparation for the next season. The tournament also gives uncontracted players a chance to impress selectors as each team needs to have a minimum of one domestic player in the team. The carnival-like nature of the competition ensures that all sides play four games before the final four teams make it to the semifinals on October 29, culminating into the grand final on October 30 at Cricket Central.
