After Yash Dayal, another popular player from Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Swastik Chikara got his name tangled in controversies. Notably, an Instagram user named Radhika Sharma claimed that Chikara was constantly pressuring her to meet in a cafe. She even posted a screen recording where she shows some chats with Chikara too. However, the chats were from 2023, and looked pretty decent. Well, in the caption she mentioned that they had most of their interactions on snapchat, which she had removed. To make it clear, Cricketgully has not verified any of the claims made. Fans later pointed out how the chats were made before Chikara even got his IPL call in 2024. The batter, however, became famous, mostly for staying as a shadow to the RCB star Virat Kohli. He really didn't play a single match, despite having stellar domestic stats. Despite being part of the squad, he did not feature in any matches during the 2024 season. Ahead of IPL 2025, Chikara was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 30 lakh and was included in their title-winning squad. However, he once again remained on the sidelines without making an appearance. In the IPL 2026 auction, Chikara went unsold, marking a pause in his journey at the league level despite earlier franchise interest. Swastik Chikara domestic brilliance Despite the IPL drought, Swastik Chikara has emerged as a promising name in Indian domestic cricket, making a strong impact through his explosive batting in white-ball formats. He was the top run-scorer of the 2024 Uttar Pradesh T20 League, piling up 499 runs in 12 innings at an average of 49.90 and a striking strike rate of 185.50, playing a key role in Meerut Mavericks’ title triumph. Chikara announced himself in List A cricket with a debut century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023, scoring 117 against Himachal Pradesh. He also registered the tournament’s fastest fifty in the UP T20 League and was part of a 381-run partnership in the Nayudu Trophy, underlining his versatility and temperament.
