For England, Chris Woakes would have been the only player to play all five Tests in the ongoing Rothesay Test Series. However, an unfortunate shoulder injury might cut short his journey in this series. Chris Woakes is suspected to have sustained a shoulder dislocation while fielding and walked out for treatment. He was supposed to undergo scans and England will officially announce his availability on Friday. However, after the day's end, Gus Atkinson, the key bowler for England, said that it will be unusual if Woakes walks into the field. Even though he didn't have much idea about the nature of the injury, Woakes didn't look good to him. Speaking at the press conference, Atkinson said, “I don’t know too much about it, but it doesn’t look great. It’s a big shame, last game of the series, and when anyone gets injured, it’s a shame. I’m hoping it’s not too bad, and whatever it is, he’ll get full support from everyone." Earlier, he told BCC: "I will be surprised if he takes any further part in the game." Chris Woakes, the one leading the pace attack for England against India in the fifth Test at The Oval, actually had a great start. He slid into the stumps of KL Rahul, toppling his stumps. However, his injury came in the 57th over, when he tried to glide near the ropes, trying to save a boundary from Karun Nair's dive. Woakes had landed badly on his right shoulder and sat down holding it, visibly in pain. The physio came, and after a short span of inspection, he was carried to the dressing room using his jumper as a sling for his arm. Throughout the series, English provided flat tracks, which was so unlikely for the guests. Despite that, Woakes managed 11 wickets at 52.18, bowling 181 overs overall.
