Suryakumar Yadav and wife Devisha Shetty welcomed a baby girl on Thursday-giving the India T20 captain and his family happy news amid the IPL 2026 season. The couple welcomed their first child in Mumbai, with the news doing rounds all across social media with wishes pouring in from across the cricket fraternity. The joyous news arrives right before Mumbai Indians' crucial clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Raipur on Sunday. It remains unclear as to when Suryakumar would join back the Mumbai Indians unit as he would currently be accompanying his family to be with the newly-born girl. Special Moment During Difficult IPL Season The birth of the baby girl has arrived during a tough IPL season for Suryakumar with the bat. He has failed to register a consistent string of runs in IPL 2026-having scored 195 runs in 10 matches at an average of 19.50 with a strike rate of 145.52. Mumbai Indians has also had an extremely disappointing campaign in IPL 2026 so far with the five-time champions ninth on the league table with 6 points from 10 matches and require them to win the rest of their games to stand a chance to make it to the playoffs. Even though 2026 has turned out to be an unlucky year for Suryakumar with the bat, it has certainly been a memorable one for him on a personal level. Earlier in 2026 he was the captain of India's T20I side which lift the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium.
