India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been officially warned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after a complaint was filed against him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The matter arose in the wake of India's group-stage victory over Pakistan on September 14, when Yadav had dedicated the win to the Indian Armed Forces engaged in Operation Sindoor and offered solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. ICC Intervention After PCB Complaint The PCB protested Yadav's mention of Operation Sindoor, alleging his remarks had political overtones. On account of the complaint, Yadav met match referee Richie Richardson and pleaded not guilty. The ICC has subsequently reminded him not to utter similar statements in the future press conferences. Richardson will announce his final ruling on Friday, before India's remaining Super 4 encounter against Sri Lanka. As per ICC protocol, the sanction could be anything from a formal warning to a penalty through deduction of match fees, although no definitive ruling has been made so far.
