Sanju Samson was on fire, smashing his second consecutive T20I century with an incredible 107 off just 50 balls. The dynamic wicketkeeper-batter reached his hundred in only 47 deliveries, filling his remarkable innings with seven sizzling boundaries and 10 powerful sixes. In the best form of his career, Sanju has been consistently delivering match-winning performances for two games straight. Although he once struggled with his form, everything changed after his breakthrough century against Bangladesh, marking the start of an unstoppable streak for the Kerala batter. After the match, Team India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, highly praised Samson for delivering a selfless innings for the team's cause. In the post-match conference, SKY said: “The amount of hard work he has put in over the last few years, doing the boring work, he is eating the fruits of that. He was in the 90s but still he was looking for a boundary, playing for the team which shows the character of the man and that's what we look for.” In his century knock, Sanju Samson shattered multiple records, one of them is surpassing the former Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni to become the 7th fastest Indian to reach 7,000 T20 runs. While Dhoni reached this milestone in 305 innings, Samson managed to achieve it in just 269 innings. The second match of the series is set to be played in Port Elizabeth on this Sunday.
