Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly unwilling to share the presentation dais with Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi if India lifts the Asia Cup on September 28. As per multiple reports, the team has conveyed that they may avoid receiving the silverware directly from Naqvi, who is also the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. A PTI report stated,   “…it is reliably learnt that if India make the tournament’s final on September 28, the players won’t be sharing the presentation dais with Naqvi, who is expected to hand over the winner’s trophy as ACC head."   The final of the continental event is set for September 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. Being the ACC president, Naqvi traditionally hands over the trophy to the winning captain. However, this development indicates that the post-match presentation could see a break in the usual protocol.   Read also: Watch: DJ Plays Jalebi Baby Instead of Pakistan Anthem in Asia Cup   PCB Lodges Complaint, Escalates Tension   The PCB has intensified its stance by filing a complaint against match referee Andy Pycroft with the ICC. The grievance relates to the referee’s alleged instruction to both captains to avoid handshakes during the toss before the India-Pakistan group stage game. Naqvi posted on X,   “The PCB has lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding violations by the Match Referee of the ICC Code of Conduct and the MCC Laws pertaining to the Spirit of Cricket. The PCB has demanded an immediate removal of the Match Referee from the Asia Cup."   PCB has even hinted at withdrawing from their next group game against UAE if the demand is not met. Naqvi also criticised India’s conduct on social media, writing,   “Utterly disappointing to witness the lack of sportsmanship today. Dragging politics into the game goes against the very spirit of sports.”
