India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has taken a flight to England and is believed to be undergoing a sports hernia treatment. He has been suffering from the issue for a long time on the right side of his body. According to the reports, it will be an eight-month treatment. Presently, India is not having any white-ball matches until August, and thus Sky decided to use this period for his betterment in the long run. Notably, India will be playing an ODI and the T20I series against Bangladesh. Whether Surya will be playing the ODI series is uncertain, but he is certain for the T20I series. However, BCCI has made no official statement regarding Surya's injury or treatment. But according to several reports, Surya might even skip the entire Bangladesh series in case he takes a longer time to get fit. As per reports, he will start the treatment next week. And it might take him the entire month of August to be fully fit to play. India’s home season will continue after the Bangladesh series with bilateral contests against Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand leading up to the T20 World Cup. While the Asia Cup is currently slated for September, rising tensions between India and Pakistan have cast doubt over the tournament's timely staging, increasing the likelihood of a postponement.
