Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t left his hopes of playing the Test matches for his national side. Recently in a pre-match press conference ahead of the first T20I match against South Africa, Surya mentioned that he is playing all the domestic matches, not missing a single game, to make his Test comeback. After Rohit Sharma retired following India’s T20I World Cup victory in June 2024, Suryakumar Yadav took over as the team’s T20I captain. Since stepping into the role, he has guided India to back-to-back 3-0 series sweeps against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. His record as India’s T20I captain continues to strengthen with each match.
