The Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has reportedly been fined for dedicating the Group Stage victory against Pakistan to the Indian Armed Forces, showing solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces. Pakistan had lodged a complaint against Surya, citing that he made political remarks. According to a report from PTI, Surya attended the hearing presided over by ICC match referee Richie Richardson and was later fined 30% of his match fee. However, there is no official confirmation about the developments from BCCI. A source from BCCI later clarified to NDTV that there will be a formal announcement with the BCCI issuing a press release, but after the 2025 Asia Cup final. Earlier, Suryakaumar was warned on the ICC's behalf to not make any comments that might trigger political tensions. However, Surya later pleaded not guilty. Even though Farhan's was a gun-like celebration after he reached the half-century, Haris, standing at the boundary, mocked India's recent Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, showing a plane crashing. ICC let go of Farwan with a warning but Rauf has been fined 30% of his match fee. A PTI report last night said, "Match referee Richie Richardson completed his hearing on Friday afternoon at the team hotel. Haris Rauf has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for aggressive behavior, and Farhan has been let off with a warning." Earlier, both Rauf and Farhan entered pleas of not guilty during their ICC hearing over allegations of provocative conduct in the clash against India, tournament sources revealed. The session took place at the Pakistan team hotel, with match referee Richie Richardson presiding. Although their official responses had been submitted in writing, the players were present in person. They were joined by team manager Naveed Akram Cheema during the proceedings. Notably India and Pakistan will be facing each other in the Asia Cup 2025 for the third time in final match on Sunday, September 28.
