The season will open at Seddon Park in Hamilton, where the first match will see the Northern Knights clashing with the Auckland Aces. In the tournament's six regional teams will again compete in a double round-robin format, hoping to reach finals at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, on January 30 and 31. Teams to Watch in Super Smash 2025-26 Starting the season as the defending champions, the Central Stags would be the team to beat. With such experienced players as Doug Bracewell, Ajaz Patel, and Blair Tickner, they will be trying to follow up on last season's success. Others, too, like Auckland Aces, Canterbury Kings, and Wellington Firebirds, have announced balanced squads with a youth-balance of talent and experience, rendering the field very open.
