Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has grabbed 12 wickets in the first two matches against Australia. He is presently the leading wicket-taker of the series. Harshit Rana supported him well in the first Test in Perth while Mohammed Siraj did his best in Adelaide, but there's room for improvement, as legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar suggested. The 75-year-old felt that Harshit bowled well in Perth but could not get into the groove in the Day-Night Test. Siraj did well, but Gavaskar wants him to be more consistent and start picking up five-wicket hauls. He feels that Bumrah is currently carrying the bowling unit and wants some support for him for India to be more effective against Australia in the upcoming Test at Gabba. Here is what Gavaskar told Star Sports “Yes, to a great extent. You've got to say that. Mohammed Siraj is a good foil, but he has to start getting five wickets in an innings. Otherwise, the load is being picked up mainly by Jasprit Bumrah. But if Siraj can pick up two, three wickets, keep on breaking partnerships, then he certainly helps Jasprit Bumrah. Harshit Rana, the newcomer, bowled impressively in Perth, wasn't as impressive in the second game at Adelaide,” “Maybe he just couldn't find his rhythm, therefore, was not bowling the length that he should have, or the line that he should have. But hopefully, he will have learned. And then that makes it easy. It takes the load off Bumrah. Bumrah can then come in, in short bursts of four or five overs, and be much more effective,” he added. India's pace attack has been amazing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially in the first match. Jasprit Bumrah has been the main man for India in the bowling department. On the other hand, Siraj has also been impressive in the series, and the young Harshit Rana also looked good in the first Test, but in the second Test match he was not on point. Overall Indian bowling is the key reason for their sucess in the series so far in the BGT. Going into the most difficult surface for the batters, Gabba Indan bowling again will have a big role to play in order to win the match for India. Again Bumrah will be leading from the front, but support from the other bowlers will be a key for India. In the last match, Siraj getting some rhythm was a good sign for India, but there were some problems with Harshit Rana. Now India is more likely to replace him with Akash Deep, who showed promise with his bowling.
