Sunil Gavaskar has helped former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli in this precarious time. The relevant former cricketer is pitted against health issues. Kambli was admitted to a hospital in December last year suffering from excruciating cramps and problems arising from a urinary infection. He was treated for just under two weeks in a Thane hospital before being discharged on January 1. The health issues of Kambli are no longer recent. Back in 2013, he had to undergo two heart surgeries which he could pay for through his close friend and great cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. Kambli had been spotted at the unveiling of a memorial for his former coach Ramakant Achrekar held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai in December. Tendulkar was present for the function. Many began to notice that he was in ill health, and some weeks later, he was readmitted to the hospital. Gavaskar, seeing Kambli's deteriorating health, intervened and promised that the 1983 World Cup-winning team would support Kambli. That promise is what he has now fulfilled.
