India's legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar had a heartwarming moment with an on-duty policeman when he claimed to click multiple photos with the latter, instead of one. This happened during the fourth T20I against England when the policeman near the commentary box asked if he can have a photo with Sunil Gavaskar. According to a report of Mid-day, Gavaskar gave a witty reply in return, saying, “No. You cannot take just one photo. You can take two or three photos with me, and not one. What will you do with just one photo?” Read also: Rohit Sharma to Dethrone Kohli? A Historic Milestone Awaits! The unbroken legacy of Sunil Gavaskar Nearly 40 years have passed since Sunil Gavaskar last represented India, yet his legacy remains unmatched. The batting icon’s remarkable achievements and long-standing career as a broadcaster have ensured his continued popularity among cricket fans. Even with the rise of several modern-day greats, Gavaskar's presence still draws attention. A recent instance of this was reportedly witnessed ahead of the fourth T20I between India and England in Pune. Sunil Gavaskar was the first to surpass 10,000 Test runs, finishing with 10,122 in 125 matches. He also excelled in first-class cricket, scoring 25,834 runs. Recently, he urged senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play in the Ranji Trophy after their poor Test form in 2024/25. However, he was unimpressed with Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performances in the match they played. He said, "Whether their hearts were in it or they did that only to ensure they were not stripped of their BCCI contracts, like Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were, after missing out on the Ranji Trophy games last year, is known only to them. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s participation meant that Ayush Mhatre, who had got a couple of hundreds and some fifties, had to be left out of the Mumbai side. Hopefully, the youngster would have spent some time with both these players and picked their brains about adding to his batting ability."
