The Australian cricket team is working hard to regain their reputation on their home soil by developing some key strategies to tackle the Indian team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The home team will kick off their campaign by taking on their rival team India in the first Test of the series in Perth from November 22. The interesting thing to note down is, how the Australian team prepares for the Indian pace attack. The key speculation has been coming out to be that Steve Smith, the Australian star Test batter, will be coming down the order to play in the BGT 2024-25. George Bailey has confirmed that Steve Smith will be shifting back to the middle order ahead of the upcoming series. Bailey also mentioned that this decision was made well before Cameron Green’s season-ending back injury. Pat and Andrew have confirmed that he will be dropping back down the order for the summer. So, yeah, clearly we've got a No. 4 spot to fill and an opening spot to fill.” George Bailey further made it clear that Steve Smith’s position at number four for the Perth Test against India is still not confirmed yet. He emphasized that the final decision on the batting order depends on the captain, Pat Cummins, and coach, Andrew McDonald.
