Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh soon. Fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has returned to the squad after his recovery from an injury. He replaced Lahiru Kumara, who is injured now. Sri Lanka all-rounder Milan Rathnayake has also been selected. He has appeared in five Test matches for Sri Lanka but hasn't featured in ODIs or T20Is as yet. He is now on the sidelines with a side strain that kept him away from the second Test against Bangladesh. The side hopes to get him ready for the first ODI on July 2. Wicketkeeper-batter Sadeera Samarawickrama is also coming back in. He had played for Sri Lanka last in November 2024 but was left out due to poor form. He is replacing Nuwanidu Fernando in the team and will be hoping to do well against Bangladesh. Pace bowler Eshan Malinga has retained his place in the squad after performing well for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025. Asitha Fernando is also included in the pace group, providing the team with a combination of youth and experience at the fast bowling department.
