Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) staged an incredible batting show against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 2 of IPL 2025, scoring an astronomical 286/6 from their 20 overs. While RR's stand-in captain Riyan Parag elected to put SRH into bat first, SRH openers came blazing out of the gates. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave SRH a blazing start, adding 45 runs off just three overs. But Sharma was dismissed for 24 in the fourth over by Maheesh Theekshana. Ishan Kishan joined Head, and the two destroyed the RR bowlers. Head, in a merciless rampage, thrashed Jofra Archer for 23 runs in one over, which is England pacer's second-most costly over in IPL history. The Australian batter completed his half-century in a mere 21 balls before being sent back for 67 by Tushar Deshpande off 31 balls, nine fours, and three sixes. Kishan, debuting for SRH, took the limelight with a blinding century from a mere 45 balls. He dominated RR's bowling unit, making sure SRH did not lose their attacking style of play. Heinrich Klaasen helped finish strongly with important runs as his partner Kishan. Archer had a forgettable day, giving away 76 runs in his four overs, one of the costliest spells in IPL history.
