The 49th game of IPL 2026 sees Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Punjab Kings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both the sides have been arguably the most attacking batting units this season, and this match has huge playoff implications. PBKS stand in a decent position despite two back to back losses, whereas SRH would want to get back on the horse after their recent loss. This is going to be the contest between two fastest-scoring teams in IPL 2026. In the Powerplay SRH and PBKS have both gone at more than 11.5 per over this season. Their scoring rate has been equally impressive in the middle overs too, and therefore the game is all set for an epic high-scoring match. The presence of the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Heinrich Klaasen, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis to the batting line up of SRH and PBKS makes for very potent death hitters, who are capable of changing the game at a glance. However, PBKS may have to deal with their weak bowling unit that has suffered in the recent few matches. The conditions are likely to suit the batters yet again, the pitch is flat, with short boundaries on either side, same as it was at the venue where India scored 297. Expect big totals at the venue, as dews are not likely to be a major concern because of the some cloud cover in the sky. The batting might be so attacking that the bowlers could prove to be useless. At the toss, Punjab have won and chose to bowl first. Here's what the captains said at the toss: Pat Cummins: "I also would have bowled first. Hopefully we come up great tonight. The crowds have supported us very well this season. I can't really judge the pitch, hopefull we will put some runs on the board. Nitish is back for us tonight." Shreyas Iyer: "We will bowl first. So far we have learned amazing things in the last few matches we have lost. We have no complaints so far because of travelling. Everyone are holding up well as professionals. Last match SRH chased so I thought we will bowl. Shashank comes in."
