In an enthralling encounter of IPL 2026, Lucknow Super Giants clinched a thrilling victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets in the 10th match of the season held at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 157, LSG reached the target with the help of a remarkable knock by skipper Rishabh Pant in 19.5 overs.Earlier SRH, had a shaky start but recovered brilliantly to pile up 156/9 after a brilliant partnership by Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. SRH innings: Early collapse but Klassen-Reddy rescue act The Sunrisers Hyderabad innings got off to a poor start as they lost 4 wickets inside the first seven overs with the help of superb bowling by Mohammed Shami who sent packing Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head and Ishan Kishan too fell for a low score. SRH was reeling at 11/3 and after the end of the powerplay, they could only muster 22/3 with one of their lowest scores in the tournament. At the 10-over mark SRH was languishing at 35/4 and this is one of the lowest totals at that mark in IPL. A magnificent partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy saw SRH back in the game as the duo added 116 runs. Heinrich Klaasen slammed 62 of just 41 balls studded with five fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 56 off 33 deliveries, featuring three fours and five sixes. However, SRH had to settle for 156/9 at the end. Mohammed Shami was impressive and returned figures of 2/9 in four overs. Avesh Khan and Prince Yadav scalped two wickets each. While Mitchell Marsh contributed 14, wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end. Rishabh Pant was a rock at one end and anchored the chase as he remained unbeaten on 68 of 50 deliveries. Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad too played crucial cameos with the bat to help Pant as LSG comfortably reached the target 160/5 in 19.5 overs. Harsh Dubey was brilliant with the ball and returned with figures of 2/18. Eshan Malinga and Shivang Kumar picked up a wicket each, but it wasn't enough to defend the total. Rishabh Pant now holds 626 runs against SRH in 19 innings at an average of 44.71. 156/9 is the highest total by SRH after losing 4 wickets under 30 in an IPL match. The 22/3 in powerplay is one of SRH's lowest while 35/4 at 10 overs is the lowest in an IPL game. Mohammed Shami now has 25 powerplay wickets since 2023 equaling Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
