South Africa have named their 15-man squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia set to be played from June 11-15, 2025 at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London, England. Here is the full squad - Temba Bavuma (C), Tony de Zorzi, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Corbin Bosch, Kyle Verreynne (wk), David Bedingham, Tristan Stubbs, Ryan Rickelton, Senuran Muthusamy, Dane Paterson Some interesting omissions in the squad are the pacers Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger while Lungi Ngidi has been called back having last played a test match in August 2024. Also, 4-test matches old Dane Paterson has hung on to his place and the thing that might have worked in his favor is that he is currently playing county cricket in England itself while the recent drug drama has had no effect on Rabada's selection. As many as 8 players out of the 15 in the squad are a part of various IPL teams which is scheduled to resume on 17th May and end on 3rd June, just a week before the WTC final. The Proteas have not included any travelling reserve in their squad unlike their opponents Australia who have named an extra pacer in their squad in the form of a travelling reserve.
