Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian cricketer, has expressed his opinion regarding the severance of ties with Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attacks, which he has described as very strong. He has said that all relations should be cut off and strict action should be taken. Among the increasing tensions of India and Pakistan continues to be inflamed day by day over the latest barbaric attack at Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorists fired on tourists which ended up killing 28 innocent souls. To respond, the Indian government has been taking tough measures to curb its relations with Pakistan. All Pakistani nationals living in India have been ordered to leave and other measures of great significance have been initiated with the intention of exerting maximum pressure on Pakistan. The sporting world could also be greatly affected. Reports are suggesting that the BCCI wants to sever all cricketing relations with Pakistan. BCCI is believed to have approached the ICC, asking that India and Pakistan not be put in the same group for any of the forthcoming ICC tournaments. A wave of outrage has emerged from the incident and serious questions have been raised about whether India should continue facing Pakistan in the field anymore. A number of former players have come forward demanding a complete boycott of matches between the two countries; Sourav Ganguly is the most recent to join them. Ganguly mentioned that these attacks cannot be tolerated anymore and that keeping ties with Pakistan would send a very wrong message. He stressed that action must be taken before this becomes a norm, or such incidents will continue forever. Speaking to ANI, Sourav Ganguly said: "Todna bhi chahiye. 100% todna chahiye. Strict action lena zaruri hai. Yeh koi mazak nahi hai yaar har saal aise hota rehta hai. Terrorism cannot be tolerated. (The ties should be broken. 100% it should be broken. It is important to take strict action. This is not a joke ever year such incidents keep happening)." The clash was in Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where Rohit Sharma's team put up a commanding performance across departments to outplay Pakistan. India and Pakistan contested a bilateral series in the year 2012-13 when Pakistan toured India. Beyond this series, political tensions in the subcontinent have broiled the two sides without allowing any action at any stage outside ICC tournaments and Asia Cup. The fate of future encounters between India and Pakistan appears bleak, even though they capture great interest.
