The former Delhi Daredevils mentor Sourav Ganguly claimed that he is "just 50" and is ready to pick up the role of a coach in the future. In a recent interview with the PTI, he said that even though he doesn't have a so-called coaching experience, he is ready to pick up the call if the national team summons him. In the interview, Ganguly said, "I got into different roles. After finishing, I became the president (CAB), then the board president (BCCI). I never got the time. But let's see what the future holds. I am just 50 and I am open to it. We will see where it goes." Previously, Ganguly was a part of the OG men's Delhi Daredevils team and then was signed with the Delhi Capitals team in the Women's Premier League. Without denying Gambhir's failure so far, Ganguly confronted the fact that the present coach will ultimately learn with time. Ganguly said, "He is doing a good job. He started a little slow, losing to Australia and New Zealand. But he picked up with the Champions Trophy and this England series is going to be a big one for him," Ganguly reacted to the question on Gautam Gambhir." He added, "I have not seen him that close. But he is very passionate. I have not seen the strategy closely because I have never worked with him. I have played with him and he was a great guy when we played together. He had a lot of respect for me and the seniors." Sourav Ganguly observed that the individual comes across as deeply passionate and remarkably direct. According to him, there's a noticeable transparency in how Gambhir communicates—whether it's about people, the team, or individual players. From an outsider's perspective, Ganguly feels there's no pretense; what you see is what you get. While extending his best wishes, he added that, like anyone else, this person too will evolve and gain experience over time.
