Sri Lanka will miss their star leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga in the coming T20I series against Bangladesh, which is set to start on Thursday, July 10. Hasaranga sustained a right hamstring injury while batting during the final ODI of the recently concluded three-match series, leading to his omission from the T20I leg of the all-format tour. Hasaranga played a key role in Sri Lanka's 2-1 ODI series win, especially in the opening match, where his performance triggered a dramatic collapse of the visiting team, shifting the momentum in Sri Lanka's favor. Even after sustaining the injury in the third and final ODI, he bowled and gave a perfect spell, getting 2 for 35. He concluded the series with nine wickets in three games at a remarkable average of 11.67. In the last ODI, Sri Lanka scored a competitive total of 285/7, led by Kusal Mendis' dominating 124 off only 115 balls and Charith Asalanka's solid 58, with both adding 124 for the fourth wicket. The visitors then folded to 186 all out in 39.4 overs. The home team's fast bowlers, Asitha Fernando (3/33) and Dushmantha Chameera (3/51), ripped apart the top order to win the game and the series.
