Former Australian captain Michael Clarke shared updates on his skin cancer treatment. He posted a photo of his face, having a cut on the nose, saying that he just added another cut on his body. On his social media, he captioned, “Skin cancer is real! Especially in Australia. Another one cut out of my nose today. A friendly reminder to get your skin checked. Prevention is better than cure but in my case, regular check ups and early detection is key. So grateful that @drbishsoliman_ got it early . @australianskincancerfoundation." Earlier, in an interview, he said that he has at least 20 cuts on his body due to skin cancer. Last year, he had a dangerous basal cell carcinoma operated on from his chest. He has several cuts on his forehead and face due to treatments in 2023. Notably, as per 7news, he had his first diagnosis in 2006. Later in 2023 he joined the Australian Skin Care Foundation, where he said that he undergoes checkups at least twice a year. He said, "Just about every time I need to get things zapped off my body, particular my face because I’ve spent so much time in the sun. I’ve probably had 20 skin cancers cut out of my body. I get nervous but I think the advantage is I went from quite a young age so now I know, minimum twice a year I’ll make sure I go and get checked." He added, “Peace of mind is so important. Australian summer, this sun here is as strong as anywhere in the world." Notably, Michael Clarke, Australia’s 2015 World Cup-winning captain, played 115 Tests, 245 ODIs, and 34 T20Is from 2003-2015, scoring 8,643 Test runs and 7,981 ODI runs. He claimed 94 wickets and won ICC Cricketer and Test Cricketer of the Year in 2013 after scoring 1,178 runs at 84.14 in the 2012-13 season.
