Former Saurashtra all-rounder Sitanshu Kotak is reportedly set to take on the role of head coach for India ‘A’ during their upcoming red-ball tour of Australia later this month. According to the Times of India, the 52-year-old Kotak will oversee the team's red-ball series, which includes two unofficial Tests against Australia 'A' and a warm-up match against the Indian senior men's team. With a playing career that spanned 130 first-class matches from 1992 to 2013, Kotak is now a key coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and has previously worked with the Indian national team. Notably, he served as the batting coach during India’s ODI tour of South Africa last year. The first unofficial Test will take place at GBRA, Mackay, on October 31, followed by the second match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 7. After India A's second match against Australia A at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rohit Sharma and his team are set to depart for Australia. Meanwhile, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led squad will face off against the Indian side in a practice match at Perth's WACA. According to reports, the India A team is expected to gather in Mumbai today, and from there, they will be departing together for Australia.
