The Board of Cricket Council in India is also set to appoint the ex-Saurastra batter Sitangshu Kotak as the batting coach of the Indian Cricket team. Kotak has taken on various coaching roles, including being the assistant coach for the Gujarat Lions during the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) season and serving as a batting coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. At the NCA, he worked closely with Rishabh Pant, helping him through a critical rehabilitation period following his life-threatening incident in late 2022.
