Shubman Gill scored his fifth Test century for India while batting in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 21 September. This put him at the all-time second place regarding the number of centuries hit by an Indian in the World Test Championship, above Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Mayank Agarwal, who all have four. The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma tops the chart of most hundreds in World Test Championship by an Indian. He has scored 9 centuries in 33 matches.
