Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan not only steered Gujarat Titans (GT) to victory but also lent a helping hand to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The duo's 205-run unbroken partnership against Delhi Capitals (DC) ensured the playoffs for all three teams in the IPL 2025 season. Similar to what happened earlier in the day when Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals, and RCB secured a point after rain washed out their match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the three teams stood at 17 points or more after the results. With DC not set to get 17 points and LSG not getting to 16, PBKS, RCB, and GT firmly hold their spots in the final four. DC may have gotten one DRS call to stay not out, but other than that, there was never any scope for a breakthrough. The two batsmen with nowhere near a dropped catch or a close call felt like they were playing with supreme control. Pure domination! Given that the target was 200, it is hard to imagine a team chasing it without losing a wicket-even if there was an over in hand. But that's exactly what the GT openers did. Sudharsan completed his second IPL century while Gill missed out on his by just seven runs in a stylish chase. To date, Gill and Sudharsan together have amassed 839 runs this season, more than any other pair in a single IPL season, with the numbers from the next-best duo coming at 745, so their form has been phenomenal and they look far from finished.
