The Indian team had had an optional training session with the majority of the core team missing in the nets. However, the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah was seen having an intense practice session and having occasional conversations with the Indian head coach. India has equalized the scoreline of the five-match Test series against England by sealing a dominant win at Edgbaston. However, the flagbearers or the last match were nowhere to be seen. Shubman Gill, who smashed twin centuries, was missing. The star bowling duo Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj too skipped the match along with the vice captain Rishabh Pant. Washington Sundar and Yashasvi jaiswal were also missing. The probable reason might be that the team left Birmingham the previous day only. Well, there are speculations that Jasprit Bumrah is likely come back in the third Test. A report from RevSports suggested that Bumrah was seen giving 100% in the nets for the first 45 minutes. In the pre-match press conference, India's batting coach, Sitangshu Kotak, too, resonated the same feeling, though he added that the pitch will produce fewer runs in the first two innings. While Bumrah is aiming to play his second match of the series, England's Jofra Archer is likely to come back in Test cricket after almost four years. With the green covering, Archer is likely to be a threat if the Indian batters make any mistake. However, acknowledging the threat, Kotak confirmed that the team is not worried and will wait till the last second to see how it goes. Notably, the third Test starts tomorrow, on July 10.
