The 47th IPL 2025 match saw a contest between Gujarat Titans (GT) led by Shubman Gill and Rajasthan Royals (RR) with Riyan Parag as the captain. On April 28, Monday, Gujarat Titans were convincingly beaten by eight wickets by Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Batting first, GT made a respectable 209/4 courtesy of Gill's 84 and Buttler's 50, while their bowlers were pummeled. Vaibhav Suryavanshi struck a blistering 101 off 38 balls as RR chased the target in just 15.5 overs. Shubman Gill coimmented: "They took the game away from us in the powerplay and credit to them for that. There were a couple of things that we could have done better but it's very easy to sit out and say those things. Some chances came early our way, couldn't grab those but in hindsight I think there are some areas that we need to work on as a group." The Captains of GT, Shubman Gill, accepted the fact they lost out on a few opportunities early in the match which created the possibility of a turnaround. Gill stated: "(On sitting out in the second innings) Felt a little back spasm in my back and we have a game couple of days after this, so the physio didn't want to take a chance." Gill hailed Vaibhav Suryavanshi's phenomenal century and termed the innings as quite special. He elaborated: "What happened in the previous match - win or lose - we take one game as it is. The next match is at Ahmedabad, we have had a good run there, so hopefully we'll be able to continue that. (On Vaibhav Suryavanshi) It was his day. His hitting was just tremendous and he made full use of his day." Earlier in the season, on April 9 in Ahmedabad, GT put an end to RR by 58 runs. After batting first, they put up a mammoth total of 217/6 with Sai Sudharsan's terrific inning of 82 runs coming off only 53 balls. GT nonetheless kept scoring briskly despite the initial hiccup of losing Gill as they plundered the runs through Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler together, with Buttler scoring 36 off 25 balls, while Shahrukh Khan came up with 36 off 20. Late cameos from Rahul Tewatia (24 runs) and Rashid Khan (12 runs) pushed the total beyond 200.
